What Should Be Done About Higher Education?
Should one disengage from the institutions involved in the promotion and maintenance of capitalism, or try to change them from within? Applying this frequently asked question to academia, Brian Martin acknowledges the rationale behind both approaches, then argues ultimately for active partnership and collaboration between activists and academics. While he acknowledges that there is no easy formula for developing these “collective strategies,” he urges us to focus our attention towards building them.
